The implementation of environmental protection strategy necessarily requires mapping the amount of capital stock of environmental infrastructure. Through the Weibull distribution function and hyperbolic age-decreasing efficiency model, the provincial environmental infrastructure capital stock in China from 1980 to 2018 is measured cautiously, and its spatial dynamics with the generated pollutants is analyzed using the center of gravity method. It is found that: the spatial distribution of environmental infrastructure capital stock is uneven, and the unevenness in the east-west direction is greater than that in the north-south direction, but the unevenness in the east-west direction is narrowing while the north-south direction is widening; the spatial and temporal distribution of environmental infrastructure capital and environmental pollution vary greatly, and the spatial management of environmental pollution is less accurate.

We examine the impact of environmental provisions in regional trade agreements (RTAs) on the environmentally harmful exports. Results show that environmental clauses in RTAs help reduce “dirty” exports, whereas RTA depth promotes exports. The exporting country may divert its polluting exports to its trading partner if it faces more environmental provisions with other countries.

Green finance is an important driving force to promote green innovation and achieve green development. In order to deeply explore the internal relationship between green finance and green innovation efficiency, this paper selects China's provincial panel data from 2012 to 2023, uses the entropy method and super efficiency SBM model to measure the green finance development index and green innovation efficiency of each province, and on this basis, chooses to construct the spatial Durbin model with fixed effects for empirical analysis and effect decomposition. The results show that: (1) From 2012 to 2023, the development level of green finance and green innovation efficiency of China's provinces will increase year by year with the development of economic base; (2) The green innovation efficiency of provinces with better economic foundation and perfect infrastructure is also at a high level; (3) The level of green finance development, productivity, fiscal revenue and expenditure and urbanization not only have a direct effect on the green innovation efficiency of the region, but also have a spatial spillover effect on the neighboring regions.

Investment funds are increasingly focusing on ESG issues, seeking to contribute to improving environmental, social, and governance concerns. ESG-focused investing involves promoting good ESG performance and may result in a decrease in expected financial returns. This may lead to a conflict between solely profit-focused shareholders and ESG-focused investors, who may respond accordingly. As such, a firm's ESG commitment may trigger several events that can affect the stock price. A firm's ESG commitment may increase its stock price; however, the end of such commitment may also positively affect the stock price. Hedge funds may consider this in their activism which may reshape the way hedge funds target firms and influence their actions accordingly.
